If you have been to Rainbow Beach anytime recently, you know there is a snorkeling Shadow. Shadow is a very large Black Lab (mix of some sort?) who is just as sweet as can be. His owner, who shall remain nameless because I don’t know his name, snorkels the coastline for treasures. Shadow gallops on the beach, sniffs out the pretty ladies, frolics with the children, then goes back, finds his owner who is SNORKELING IN THE WATER, and hops on his back for a little rest.
Who would have thought?

that would be Barry! the kind and gentle man of the east end…. Shadow also rides on Barry’s Back while he is snorkeling!
I knew he was a resident, I have seen them so many times before. The Fisherman reminded me he worked at Seaborne. Yep! That is exactly what shadow was doing- riding on his back! Too funny!

So cute… and SO much better than when we went to Shoy’s beach (many) years ago and saw Ted Kennedy snorkeling and his two huge dogs were barking frantically on the shoreline, and his wife was shouting (to a non-responsive Ted because he was clearly under water) , “Teddy! Can you GET the dogs?!?! TEDDY!?!?! GET THE DOGS!!!”
…RIP Teddy… Your half-naked body will forever be (unwillingly) burned into my brain.
